Ms. Armitage wins $1,000
for
"One Class at a
Time"
Ms. Armitage was
so surprised when the "Chick-fil-A" cow, Ken Lass and a cameraman
entered her classroom and informed her that she had won $1,000.00 for having
entered
the CBS42 "One Class at a Time" grant opportunity.
This award was sponsored
by America's First Federal Credit Union, Farmers Insurance Group, Chick-fil-A, and CBS 42.
After the initial
surprise, Ms. Armitage continued teaching class while her class answered
questions during a question-and-answer session. Then Ms. Armitage was
interviewed by Ken Lass for Channel 42 News. She stated that she planned
to spend the money on a SmartBoard - a computer-student interactive board that
aids in multiple subjects but will really benefit her math and English students.
